Cumberland Run: Miller, Gingras double in Kentucky Sire Stakes

The first week of Kentucky Sire Stakes action at Cumberland Run wrapped up on Tuesday with 3-year-old trotters on the oval in seven $40,000 sections.

Drivers David Miller and Yannick Gingras each grabbed two victories in the Kentucky Sire Stakes races.

Miller's wins came in divisions for the boys, first with colt Vugoo (by Googoo Gaagaa and bred by co-owner Consus Racing Stable Inc. with Millstream Inc., paid $3.92 to win) in 1:54 for trainer Jonas Czernyson and co-owners J Czernyson & Per Eriksson, Dan Shetler and Merrill Murray and gelding Whiskey Wow (by Crazy Wow and bred by Crawford Farms, paid $11.28 to win) in 1:52 2/5 for owner/trainer Burlin Brower.

As for Gingras, he prevailed with filly Dreams Come Easy (by Readly Express and bred by Carter Duer, paid $8.80 to win) in 1:55 4/5 for trainer Brendan Johnson and owners Peninsula Farm Inc., Matt Franklin and Brian Gillespie and colt Big Shoes (by Greenshoe and bred by co-owner Knox Services Inc., paid $4.66 to win) in 1:54 for trainer Ron Burke and co-owners Burke Racing Stable LLC. and Weaver Bruscemi LLC.

Delivering in the other splits for fillies were Best Story Ever (by Chapter Seven and bred by Kentuckiana Farms with Eddie Gran, paid $6.14 to win) in 1:52 for co-owner/driver Andy Miller, trainer Julie Miller and co-owners Wiesman Farms LLC. and Carmen Iannacone, Voguish (by Gimpanzee and bred by Maumee River Stables, Black Creek Farm, Martin Schmucker and Steve Stewart, paid $7.54 to win) in 1:54 4/5 for driver Dexter Dunn, co-owner/trainer Andrew Harris and co-owners William Pollock and Bruce Areman and R Charm (by Propulsion and bred by Crawford Farms, paid $5.46 to win) in 1:53 4/5 for driver Scott Zeron, trainer Linda Toscano and owners M And L De/Armitage Farm.
