Cumberland Run: Kentucky Sire Stakes prelims in the books

Dexter Dunn, Todd McCarthy and David Miller had two wins each in $40,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes contests for 3-year-old trotters on Tuesday afternoon at Cumberland Run.

Dunn was victorious with filly Voguish (by Gimpanzee and bred by Maumee River Stables, Black Creek Farm, Martin Schmucker and Steve Stewart, paid $9.82 to win) in 1:53 3/5 for co-owner/trainer Andrew Harris and co-onwers William Pollock and Bruce Areman and gelding Global Sensation (by Chapter Sevena nd bred by Al Libfeld, Marvin Katz and Sam Goldband, paid $2.10 to win) in 1:55 for trainer Marcus Melander and owners Holly Lane Stud East Ltd., Daniel Plouffe and Jean Plouffe.

As for McCarthy, he was successful with gelding Yo Sheldon (by Love You and bred by Bender Sweden Inc. and Kentuckiana Farms LLC., paid $4.36 to win) in 1:53 4/5 for owner/trainer Verlin Yoder and filly Aperfect Annie (by Googoo Gaagaa and bred by Robert Detweiler, paid $4.16 to win) in 1:55 1/5 for trainer Carter Pinske and owners Pinske Stables, Mel Hartman and Andray Farm.

Miller's triumphs came with colt Vugoo (by Googoo Gaagaa and bred by co-owner Consus Racing Stable Inc. with Millstream Inc., paid $2.90 to win) in 1:52 4/5 for trainer Jonas Czernyson and co-owners J Czernyson & Per Eriksson, Dan Shetler and Merrill Murray and filly Best Friends Girl (by Tactical Landing and bred by Bluestone Farms and Fredericka Caldwell, paid $12.92 to win) in 1:55 1/5 for trainer Carter Pinske and owner James Wilhite Jr.

The Cumberland Run edition of the $100,000 Kentucky Sire Stakes finals for rookies and sophomores are slated to take place next Tuesday (November 4).
