Cumberland Run: Dame Good Time leads Monday's KYSS winners

Sophomores were in action on Monday afternoon at Cumberland Run in their first Kentucky Sires Stakes leg. Each of the events went for a purse of $40,000.

Dame Good Time (Dexter Dunn), who defeated Karl in the $400,000 Kentucky Championship Series final at The Red Mile last month, won his split for male trotters in 1:55 1/5. Dame Good Time took the lead away from Fly By (Todd McCarthy) after the 29 3/5 quarter and held sway from there to win by half a length over a game Fly By. Pisces Rising (Andy Miller) was third, six lengths behind the top two.

Travis Alexander trains the winner, a Chapter Seven gelding, for owner/breeder John Cummins. Dame Good Time won for the sixth time in his career, has banked $585,916 and paid $2.48 to win.

Dunn also captured a filly pace with Capytreach (by Captaintreacherous and bred by Buckstone Land Livestock, paid $2.36 to win) in 1:50 4/5 for trainer Tony Dinges and owners Eric Good, West Wins Stable and Mark Dumain and a colt and gelding pace with Lou Hill (by Sweet Lou, bred by owner Tom Hill, paid $2.98 to win) in 1:52 3/5 for trainer Virgil Morgan Jr.

The top driver on the day was David Miller as he had a grand slam. Miller took a filly pace with Fearless Bettor (by Betting Line, bred by Anvil And Lace Farm, paid $4.16 to win) in 1:52 for trainer Tony Dinges and owners William Salmeri and Steve Elliott, a filly tro with Spy Coast (by Walner, bred by Atlantic Trot Inc. and Steve Stewart, paid $4.14 to win) in 1:55 for trainer Ron Burke and owners Burke Racing Stable LLC., Weaver Bruscemi LLC., Phil Collura and Elizabeth Jones, another filly pace with Watching You (by He's Watching, bred by owner Brittany Farms, paid $11.66 to win) in 1:52 2/5 for trainer Tony Alagna and a colt and gelding trot with Naked Cowboy (by Tactical Landing, bred by Crawford Farms, paid $3.22 to win) in 1:54 3/5 for co-owner/trainer Dylan Davis and co-owner Howard Taylor.

Todd McCarthy also had multiple victories, as he won a colt and gelding pace with Arson (by Captaintreacherous, bred by Diamond Creek Farm, paid $4.40 to win) in 1:51 4/5 for trainer Eric Patalan and owners Thestable Arson Group and Hutchison Harness LLC. and a filly trot with Woman Of Passion (by Walner, bred by owner Al Libfeld with Marvin Katz, paid $2.26 to win) in 1:56 for trainer Carter Pinske.

Rounding out the day's Kentucky Sires Stakes winners was filly trotter Green Mercedes, as she tallied in 1:55 4/5 with Andy Miller in the bike for trainer Julie Miller. Andy also co-owns the daughter of Greenshoe, who was bred by Robert and Dan Kuhns, with Patrick Hoopes and VIP Internet Stable LLC.
