CTHS Ontario sale catalog now online

The catalog for the 2017 Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society (Ontario Division) winter mixed sale is now available online, featuring 77 horses on offer.

The auction will take place Saturday, Nov. 25, at the Woodbine Sales Pavilion in Rexdale, Ontario, beginning at 6 p.m. Eastern. This year’s catalog features 45 broodmares, 19 weanlings, 11 yearlings, and three horses of racing age.

Canadian-bred yearlings and weanlings offered at CTHS Ontario sales will be eligible for a series of sales stakes in the coming years. Based on the 2017 purse levels, the program offers a pair of $200,000 races for juveniles, one for males and another for females; a pair of $125,000, 1 1/16-mile races for 3-year-olds and up, one for each sex; a $125,000, six-furlong sprint for 3-year-olds and up; and a $125,000 race going 1 1/2 miles on turf for sophomores and older.

Stallions represented by their first crops of weanlings in the sale catalog include Conquest Curlinate, Frac Daddy, and Silver Max. Stallions with debut yearlings include Big Screen and Souper Speedy, while stallions with their first books of in-foal mares include Dynamic Sky, Reload, and War Dancer.
