Always Sunshine wins the 2018 Tale of the Cat Stakes
Barbara D. Livingston Frankie Pennington guided Always Sunshine to a two-length victory in Friday's Tale of the Cat Stakes.

The Grade 3, $200,000 Fall Highweight Handicap at Aqueduct on Thanksgiving Day has a field of nine. The $200,000 Fabulous Strike at Penn National on Thanksgiving Eve has a field of nine. In what has become a holiday tradition, the six-furlong races share four cross-entered horses.

Always Sunshine, based at Parx with Ned Allard; Lewisfield, who is stabled at Charles Town with Jeff Runco; Life in Shambles, who is at Belmont Park with Jason Servis; and Mesotherm, who is trained by Lacey Gaudet at Laurel Park; are entered in both races.

Lewisfield and Heartwood, who is stabled at the Thoroughbred Training Center outside Lexington, Ky., with James Chapman, are the 131-pound highweights at Aqueduct. In addition to the cross-entered runners, the field includes Celtic Chaos (128, Brad Cox), Win With Pride (127, Chris Englehart), Command Post (126, Jason Servis), and Runaway Lute (126, Gary Contessa).

Always Sunshine has been weighted at 130, and Life in Shambles and Mesotherm both have 127.
