Jockey Joe Crispin equaled his track record for victories by capturing seven races on the nine-race card at Portland Meadows Wednesday, including both stakes on the card. It was his third seven-win day at Portland Meadows. Crispin won with all three starters saddled by leading trainer Jerry Hollendorfer, who also won four races Wednesday at Golden Gate Fields. Crispin won the Dennis Dodge Memorial aboard the Hollendorfer-trained El Gaucho, and guided Bijou Barrister to a 5 1/2-length victory in the Mt. Hood Stakes. Crispin won the opener with the Hollendorfer-trained Decatur Island ($3.60). He finished last in the second race and had no mount in the third. Crispin then won with his final six mounts: Classy Prize ($8.20) in the fourth, the Hollendorfer-trained Karakot ($3) in the fifth, El Gaucho ($2.80) in the sixth, Tough Gold ($7.60) in the seventh, Bijou Barrister ($5.40) in the eighth, and Trail Beyond ($7.20) in the ninth. Crispin, Mark Anderson, Javier Matias and Troy Stillwill will compete as Team Portland Meadows in the Nov. 29 XpressBet Jockey Challenge against Team Southern California, comprising Joel Rosario, Joe Talamo, David Flores and Martin Pedroza.
