Craig Dado recently left his position as a vice-president and chief marketing officer at Del Mar, ending a 30-year involvement in the promotion of Southern California racing. In a statement released by Del Mar on Wednesday, Dado, 54, said he planned to pursue other business opportunities. Dado left Del Mar shortly after the conclusion of the track’s autumn meeting in late November. Dado worked at Santa Anita starting in 1991, and departed as the track’s director of marketing in 2001 to join Del Mar. At Del Mar, Dado focused on drawing younger crowds, and using concerts and promotions focused on food and drink to lure fans. :: To stay up to date, follow us on: Facebook | Instagram | Twitter
