Crafty C. T. goes to stud

LEXINGTON, Ky. - Grade 2 winner Crafty C. T. has retired from racing and will stand his first season at Contemporary Stallions in Coxsackie, N.Y. His fee hasn't been announced.

The 5-year-old Crafty Prospector horse retires with $832,652 in earnings and six Grade 1 placings. Howard Zucker trained Crafty C. T. for owner C. T. Grether, who purchased the horse for $240,000 from Cauthen Sales Agency at the 2000 Keeneland juvenile sale.

Winner of the 2001 San Rafael Stakes, Crafty C. T. was runner-up in the Grade 1 Santa Anita Derby, Ancient Title Breeders' Cup Handicap, and San Carlos Handicap. He retires with 4 wins in 18 starts.

Crafty C. T. is a son of the Far North mare Andriana B.
