Ghost Hero, who drew the rail for the Oklahoma Derby, is cross-entered in a Friday night stakes for Oklahoma-breds at Remington. Others entered in the Oklahoma Derby include West Virginia Derby winner Red Route One, Iowa Derby winner How Did He Do That, and Ellis Park Derby winner Tumbarumba. Hit Show and Groveland will both be adding a set of blinkers and Heroic Move and Pearl’s Earl will be blinkers off in equipment changes listed on the overnight from Remington. The forecast for next Sunday is a high of 84 degrees and a low of 65 on a cloudy day, according to AccuWeather. There is a 25 percent chance of precipitation. The Oklahoma Derby is slotted as the 10th and final race on the card with a scheduled post of 7:48 p.m. Central. The ninth race is the Grade 3, $200,000 Remington Park Oaks at 1 1/16 miles. It drew a field of eight runners, with Nomadic Pride cross-entered in Saturday night’s $175,000 Seneca Overnight at Churchill Downs. The field for the Remington Oaks from the rail with riders is: Perfect Wish, Wethey; Merlazza, Prat; Magic Bubbles, Rosario; Honor D Lady, Conner; Nomadic Pride, Torres; Appropriated Funds, Iram Diego; Love Tank, David Cabrera; Ancient Peace, Bejarano. Love Tank will be blinkers off for the Remington Oaks. Oklahoma Derby Day is the lone Sunday card of the meet. There are a number of events tied to the track's biggest day, according to a press release. Remington on Monday will conduct a golf tournament that raises funds for a number of local and racing-related charities. The ontrack festivities on Oklahoma Derby Day include a hat and bowtie contest featuring prizes totaling $3,600. The undercard stakes include the $100,000 David M. Vance, a six furlong race for 3-year-olds and up that drew flashy debut winner Amos Moses Hart. The 4-year-old by Outwork won a maiden special weight sprint by more than 16 lengths and earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 95. The $75,000 Remington Green for 3-year-olds on turf drew a notable dirt winner in Paluxy, who last month upset the $100,000 Governor’s Cup at Remington at 24-1.
