HOT SPRINGS, Ark. - Getridofwhatailesu could be headed to graded stakes company after nailing down her first career stakes victory in the $150,000 Pippin last month at Oaklawn Park. Trainer Brad Cox said the mare is a candidate for the track’s Grade 2, $350,000 Azeri over 1 1/16 miles on March 13. “She obviously likes Oaklawn,” Cox said. The Pippin was Getridofwhatailesu’s third win over the local strip from four starts at Oaklawn. Last year, she won two allowance races in Hot Springs. Getridofwhatailesu closed from next-to-last in the 11-horse Pippin, a mile race for which she earned a career-high Beyer Speed Figure of 89. The win came in her first race since March. :: Click to learn about our DRF's Free Past Performance program. “She had been training really well and that gave us enough confidence to go in the stakes off the layoff,” Cox said. “I thought the race set up for her on paper. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn’t. It did set up for her. It was a big effort, a big win for her, to knock out a stakes. She appears to have bounced out of it in good order.” Getridofwhatailesu is a daughter of Ghostzapper who races for The Elkstone Group. Her dam, Autobahn, was a three-time stakes winner.
