Cox pointing Shared Sense to Discovery Stakes

OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Trainer Brad Cox was strongly considering leaving New York for the winter, but with an increasing number of New York-breds in the barn and the recent announcement of large purses at Aqueduct, he said Friday that he will be keeping horses here.
“I feel like I have enough New York-bred horses that we can make it through the winter,” Cox said.

When looking at the final two weeks of the fall meet and the 16 stakes that will be run over that period, Cox is mainly focusing on Saturday’s Grade 3, $100,000 Discovery Stakes with Shared Sense, who won the Indiana and Oklahoma derbies.
Cox said he is targeting that race for Shared Sense because it is the last opportunity to run against strictly 3-year-olds at 1 1/8 miles around two turns. Jose Lezcano will ride.
Others pointing to the Discovery include Money Moves, Forza Di Oro, Monday Morning Qb, and possibly Attachment Rate and Big City Bob.
