Coady Photography Count Them Again (6) crossed the finish line a nose behind Five Pics Please, but was given first place after Five Pics Please was demoted to second by the stewards.

Count Them Again took the $65,000 Bold Ego Handicap through disqualification on Sunday, when first-place finisher Five Pics Please was demoted to second in the co-feature at Sunland Park.

The horses finished a nose apart. It was another half-length back in third to Flyin Falynn.

The disqualification stemmed from an incident at the start. The stewards ruled after an inquiry that Count Them Again ($36.80) was impeded by Five Pics Please.

Five Pics Please led throughout in the Bold Ego and covered the 5 1/2 furlongs on a fast track in 1:02.79. Count Them Again stalked the pace and rallied under Erick Medellin.
