ETOBICOKE, Ontario – The unbeaten Corsia Veloce parlayed a lovely trip into a lucrative victory that includes a fees-paid berth to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf at Del Mar in Saturday’s Grade 1 Natalma on the Woodbine Mile undercard. Corsia Veloce ($26.50) tracked the leaders in fourth while racing inside through the far turn of the one-mile turf event under Fraser Aebly. She split horses in midstretch en route to a half-length win, in a time of 1:37.42. Hot Mash, the early pacesetter, edged out the maiden La Culasse for second. Dance To The Music, the slight second choice in the nine-horse field, beat out the favored Deep Learning for fourth. She does everything right. She makes you look good.” Including bonus money for being an Ontario-bred, Corsia Veloce earned $360,000 of the $572,500 purse for the partnership of owner-breeders Glenn Sikura and Mario Serrani. “It’s very exciting, a filly like this – you don’t often go 3 for 3 with a baby like this,” Carroll said. “The way she did it –so gamely.
