Coolmore Australia announces 2014 fees

DRF Breeding Staff|Apr 28, 2014

Coolmore Australia in Jerrys Plains, New South Wales has revealed its advertised stud fees for the 2014 Southern Hemisphere breeding season.

Leading the 13-stallion roster is Pierro, who will stand for about $71,300 ($77,000 Australian). The only horse advertised to shuttle from Coolmore’s U.S. base in Versailles, Ky., is champion Uncle Mo, who will stand for about $15,275 ($16,500 Australian).

“The quality of the roster speaks for itself” said Coolmore Australia’s Tom Magnier. “We have an enticing mix of proven sires and promising sire prospects that are priced to facilitate breeders at all levels. Our focus is on our clients’ continued success both in the sales ring and on the racetrack and we look forward to meeting with them over the coming months to discuss the great opportunities that our stallions present.”

Two stallions will be in the midst of their first seasons at stud during the 2014 Southern Hemisphere breeding season. Dual English classic winner Camelot will stand for about $20,375 ($22,000 Australian), while multiple Group 1 winner Declaration of War will stand for about $25,475 ($27,500 Australian).

“The response to Camelot and Declaration Of War has been most encouraging,” said Coolmore Australia General Manager Michael Kirwan. “They are two particularly good looking horses and both have all the right ingredients for sire success. We have great faith in these horses and will be supporting both with quality mares from our own broodmare band.”
