Constitution's stud fee spikes to $40,000 at WinStar

Breakout freshman sire Constitution will see his fee more than double to $40,000 for the 2020 season at WinStar Farm.
Constitution stood for $15,000 in 2019 at WinStar, which welcomes a pair of newcomers for next season in Audible and Yoshida, and welcomes home Take Charge Indy. The Kentucky farm’s roster is led by stalwart sires More Than Ready at $80,000, Speightstown at $70,000, and Distorted Humor at $50,000.
Through Oct. 17, Constitution, by leading sire Tapit, held a narrow lead over Triple Crown winner American Pharoah on the freshman sire earnings list, $1,407,317 to $1,394,891. He is tied for third in his class with 14 winners, and is the sire of Grade 1 winner Tiz the Law, Grade 2 winner Amalfi Sunrise, Grade 3 winner By Your Side, Grade 1-placed Gouverneur Morris, and Grade 3-placed Our Country.
Grade 1 winner Audible will enter stud for $25,000, while dual-surface Grade 1 winner Yoshida's fee will be announced following his expected run in the Breeders' Cup Classic.
Grade 1 winner Take Charge Indy stood his first three seasons at WinStar before being purchased by the Korea Racing Authority and exported for the 2017 season. Now the sire of graded stakes winners Long Range Toddy, Noble Indy, and Take Charge Paula, he will stand for $17,500 as WinStar repatriates him.
The WinStar roster also includes Tiznow at $40,000; Always Dreaming at $25,000; Exaggerator at $20,000; Congrats at $10,000; Carpe Diem, Outwork, and Super Saver at $15,000; Good Samaritan at $12,500; Paynter and Speightster at $10,000; and Commissioner, Fed Biz, Overanalyze, and Tourist at $7,500.
