Conquest Typhoon seeks first win in Swynford

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Conquest Typhoon will look to win his maiden in stakes company when he takes on five others in the $125,000 Swynford Stakes, a seven-furlong sprint on Polytrack for 2-year-olds Sunday at Woodbine.
Conquest Typhoon has finished second in both of his starts, running behind Seffeara in the Clarendon Stakes in his career debut July 12 and Passion for Action in a maiden race over six furlongs on turf Aug. 3.
“He’s been training very well,” said trainer Mark Casse. “He’s a nice horse. He’s run two really nice races. I would think that he’d be fairly tough.”
Casse also has entered Conquest Boogaloo in the Swynford but isn’t sure if just one or both horses will run Sunday.
“I may scratch one of them and run in the Summer,” he said, referring to the Grade 2 stakes Sept. 13. “I haven’t decided yet, but I would find it highly unlikely that we would run both.”
