Conquest Mo Money being considered for Lone Star Park Handicap

GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas – Conquest Mo Money, who on Sunday at Lone Star Park ran fourth in his first start since the Preakness, could return to Lone Star for the Grade 3, $200,000 Lone Star Park Handicap on May 27.
Trainer Miguel Hernandez said options for Conquest Mo Money are being discussed with owner Judge Lanier Racing, and they also include route stakes in New Mexico, including the $200,000 Downs at Albuquerque Handicap on Aug. 4.
Conquest Mo Money was edged in a photo for third Sunday in a six-furlong allowance sprint. It was his first out in a year, following a seventh-place finish in the Preakness.
“He ran really good, was a little tired,” Hernandez said. “The six furlongs is too short. He needs to run a little farther.”
Conquest Mo Money, a multiple stakes winner at two turns who ran second to champion Classic Empire in last year’s Arkansas Derby, had been sidelined after coming out of a work with a “minor fracture” in a sesamoid and a suspensory ligament injury, according to co-owner Tom McKenna. Conquest Mo Money is based at SunRay Park in Farmington, N.M.
Conquest Mo Money came to Lone Star with Oh So Regal, the $150,000 Sunland Park Handicap winner for Judge Lanier and Hernandez. Oh So Regal finished sixth in the Steve Sexton Mile and did not appear to handle the track, said Hernandez. Oh So Regal also will be considered for upcoming regional handicaps, said Hernandez.
◗ A patron of Retama Park near San Antonio cashed for a track record $1.2 million on Saturday after hitting a pick five that ended on the Kentucky Derby at Churchill Downs. The 50-cent wager returned $620,827 and the pool was $2.9 million. The woman won on an $18 ticket, according to officials with Retama. She is a resident of Austin, Texas, and she asked that just her first name, Margaret, be publicized, according to track officials.
