Connections weighing options for Warrior's Charge

Warrior’s Charge has some stakes options in July following his troubled sixth-place finish in the Grade 3, $400,000 Steve Sexton Mile on May 31 at Lone Star Park.
Trainer Brad Cox said the horse will be considered for the Grade 3, $300,000 Cornhusker on July 2 at Prairie Meadows. Another option is the $85,000 Michael G. Schaefer Memorial on July 7 at Indiana Grand.
Warrior’s Charge is a multiple Grade 3 winner of nearly $900,000. The front-runner came in from Kentucky for the Sexton Mile. He was one of the top choices in the race, won by Mo Mosa.
“He missed the break,” Cox said. “With his style of running, it didn’t suit him. It was really over when it began.”
Cox said the next move with Warrior’s Charge will be discussed with his ownership, Ten Strike Racing and Madaket Racing.
Cox said Mundaye Call, who was a fast-closing second in the $100,000 Memorial Day Sprint at Lone Star Park, shipped home to Kentucky with plans for her next start to be determined.
Mundaye Call, a front-runner, was away last of all in the Memorial Day Sprint. From there, she put in a strong rally.
“I thought she ran well,” Cox said. “She was compromised at the break, considering the way she likes to run and her style.”
Mundaye Call races for OXO Equine.
