Condo Commando gets a break

Condo Commando, who galloped to an 11 1/2-length victory in last weekend’s Grade 2 Demoiselle, was to be shipped Friday to the Fair Hill Training Center in Maryland for a three- or four-week break, according to trainer Rudy Rodriguez.
Rodriguez said Condo Commando had a hard campaign that included victories in the Grade 1 Spinaway and the Demoiselle as well as a fourth-place finish in the Grade 1 Frizette. Rodriguez said Condo Commando would take advantage of the amenities at Fair Hill, including the hyperbaric chamber and Aquatread.
Rodriguez said depending on the weather, Condo Commando could start back in training at Fair Hill, noting that the facility has Polytrack. Given the timetable, Condo Commando likely would skip the Busanda Stakes on Jan. 10 and perhaps point for the Busher on Feb. 21.
Rodriguez said Vyjack, fifth in the Grade 1 Cigar Mile, could be wheeled back in the Queens County Stakes on Dec. 13 or get a break at Fair Hill.
Rodriguez said Vyjack galloped Thursday at Aqueduct and “dragged me the whole way around there.”
