Concordes Saint all the way at Ruidoso

Concordes Saint took the lead at the start then held off Ax Me Nice for a neck win in the $50,000 Norgor Derby at Ruidoso Downs on Sunday. The six-furlong race was the first Thoroughbred stakes of the meet. It was another neck back in third to favorite Dos and Donts.

Concordes Saint ($17.60) set fractions of 22 seconds for the opening quarter and 44.70 for the half-mile before winning in a time of 1:12. Martin Bourdieu rode the winner for Howard Petersen and trainer Henry Dominguez.
