Concert Music makes it five in a row in Senate Appointee

VANCOUVER, British Columbia - Heavily favored Concert Music ($3.10) remained undefeated in five starts with a 1 3/4-length win over Kaweah Princess in the $50,000 Senate Appointee at Hastings on Saturday.

With Fernando Perez taking a big hold early, Concert Music stalked Clair Annette, who set moderate fractions of 22.97 and 47.15 seconds. When Summer Song moved up and put outside pressure on Concert Music at the three-eighths pole, Perez let out a notch and his mount immediately responded. Concert Music took the lead at the quarter pole and was never threatened the rest of the way. She completed 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:16.92.

Trained by John Snow, Concert Music earned $30,000 to bring her career earnings to $96,720 for her owners, Ross McLeod and Rob Fiorvento.
