Competitive group expected for Raven Run Stakes

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Grade 2, $250,000 Raven Run is the richest of four graded stakes to be run on consecutive days here next week. Valadorna, Tequilita, Faypien, and Pinch Hit are among the 3-year-old fillies expected for what is shaping up as a terrific renewal of the seven-furlong Raven Run, to be contested Saturday, Oct. 21.

Featured events on surrounding dates are the Grade 3, $100,000 Sycamore (Thursday) for older turf marathoners; the Grade 3, $150,000 Valley View for 3-year-old turf fillies (Friday); and the Grade 3, $125,000 Dowager (Sunday, Oct. 22) for filly and mare turf marathoners.

After next week, only the Grade 2, $200,000 Fayette will remain on the fall stakes schedule. The 1 1/8-mile race is expected to match Honorable Duty and McCraken on closing day, Oct. 28.
