Comic Truth captures Jean Lafitte Stakes

Vinton, La. - Comic Truth, who left Florida back in July with only a maiden claiming win to show from four starts, picked up this third stakes victory since coming under trainer Cole Norman's care by capturing the $75,000 Jean Lafitte Stakes Sunday night. Mr. Decatur finished two lengths back in second followed by another Norman charge, Gentlemen J J.

Comic Truth raced with the pace throughout under Jamie Theriot and dueled with Mr. Decatur into the stretch. The runner up was unable to match strides with the winner late but was almost five lengths clear for the place. The final time for the seven furlongs was 1:25.35 over a fast track.

The winner was bred by owners K. K. and Vilasini Jayaraman and picked up $45,000 for his winning connections. The win also provides Comic Truth with a free berth in the rich $500,000 Delta Jackpot which will be run on December 21.
