Comedy Town improved his dirt record to 3 for 3 on Saturday when he shuttled to a 1 3/4-length win over Loco Abarrio in the $100,000 Benny the Bull Stakes at Gulfstream Park. It was another length back in third to Vivir Con Alegria. The Benny the Bull was a seven-furlong race for 3-year-olds and up and it was run on a muddy, sealed track that had been upgraded from sloppy one race earlier on the card. Big Data, the winner of last year’s Super Derby at Louisiana Downs who was on deck to make his 4-year-old debut, was scratched Saturday, as was Saint Tapit, who is out of Horse of the Year Havre de Grace. Comedy Town ($3.40) has won his dirt starts in his last three outs, taking an allowance at Gulfstream and the track's Smile Sprint ahead of the Benny the Bull. He tracked the pace in fourth Saturday as Vivir Con Alegria led the field through an opening quarter in 22.92 seconds and Loco Abarrio took over through a half-mile in 45.36. Comedy Town made his dirt debut in his 25th career start, after being claimed in March. He has now won 6 of 27 starts for earnings of $396,225.
