Come Dancing works for Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Sprint

Come Dancing, who figures to be among the top choices in the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint, worked five furlongs in 1:00.91 Saturday morning over the Belmont Park training track.
With regular rider Javier Castellano at Keeneland, trainer Carlos Martin tabbed Rajiv Maragh to work Come Dancing.
Come Dancing went her first quarter in 25.84 seconds, three furlongs in 37.66 and got his final quarter in 23.25 seconds. She galloped out six furlongs in 1:14.14.
Martin said Maragh told him, “Now I know why I couldn’t beat her with Carrera Cat,” referring to the Grade 2 Gallant Bloom, where Carrera Cat finished fourth behind Come Dancing. “He said it was like lift-off down the stretch. He was impressed.”

Martin is planning two more workouts for Come Dancing at Belmont before shipping to California the week of the race.
◗ Chad Brown sent out four potential Breeders’ Cup starters for workouts Saturday morning.
Guarana worked a strong half-mile in 47.10 seconds in company with Wow Cat. Guarana, second in the Grade 1 Cotillion at Parx, will cut back to seven furlongs in the $1 million Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint.
Wow Cat is under consideration for a Breeders’ Cup race as well, with both the Distaff and Classic under consideration.
Structor, the Pilgrim winner, went a half-mile in 49.80 seconds in company with Proven Reserves. Structor is pointing to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Turf.
Selflessly, winner of the Miss Grillo Stakes, worked a half-mile in 49.14 seconds in company with Princesa Caroline, a maiden winner. Selfessly is pointing to the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf.
