Come Dancing will train at Belmont Park for the Breeders' Cup

ELMONT, N.Y. – Come Dancing will stay at home in New York to do all of her serious training for the Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint at Santa Anita on Nov. 2, trainer Carlos Martin said Monday.
“She’s comfortable here, she loves this track,” Martin said, referring to the Belmont training track where Come Dancing does the majority of her training. “We’re going to leave her in her comfort zone. That makes the most sense.”
On Sunday, Come Dancing won her final prep for the Breeders’ Cup, taking the Grade 2, $300,000 Gallant Bloom Handicap by 3 1/4 lengths as the 1-5 favorite. She ran 6 1/2 furlongs in 1:14.96 and earned a 98 Beyer Speed Figure.
Come Dancing did lug in significantly after passing the pacesetting Minit to Stardom, but Martin said Monday that the filly is fine physically.
“I don’t see anything wrong with her. I checked her up and down,” Martin said.
The lugging in could just be Come Dancing loafing after she makes the lead. She did the same thing when she won the Grade 1 Ballerina.
With her victory in the Gallant Bloom, Come Dancing improved her record to 8-2-0 from 13 starts with career earnings of $1,054,950.
