Colt ties Ocala workout record

A Gilded Time colt equaled the Ocala Breeders' Sales Company's fastest-ever eighth-mile work on Saturday in Ocala, Fla., when he covered the distance in 10 seconds.

The colt breezed at the weekend's under-tack preview for the OBS June sale, which was to run Tuesday and Wednesday at the auction house's facility in Ocala.

The Gilded Time colt, cataloged as Hip No. 148, is out of the Holy Bull mare Twenty Two Kisses and is on offer through agent Terry Oliver's consignment. Dam Twenty Two Kisses is a half-sister to the Italian stakes winner and Group 1-placed colt As You Like.

The under-tack show's fastest quarter-mile time was 21.20 seconds by Hip No. 183, a West Acre colt out of Y'All Sing, by Singular. The colt is slated to sell through Brett A. Brinkman's Mesa Verde Bloodstock agency.
