Colonial: Mt. Carson easily

Jeff Coady/Coady Photo Mt. Carson wins the $50,000 Da Hoss at Colonial Downs on Saturday.
Mt. Carson, a two-time stakes winner on dirt but unraced on grass, benefited the most when the $50,000 Da Hoss was moved from the turf to the main track at Colonial Downs.
One of only five horses left in the scratch-reduced field of older horses, Mt. Carson ($3.20) romped to a seven-length victory under jockey Joe Rocco Jr. His time for a mile over a fast track was 1:35.07.
It was Mt. Carson's fifth win in 13 starts, but his first beyond six furlongs since he won the one-mile Dover as a 2-year-old at Delaware Park in October 2002.
