Colonial Downs announced Wednesday that it will shift the Arlington Million card scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 10, to Sunday, Aug. 11, owing to the forecast of heavy rain from Tropical Storm Debby. Colonial on Tuesday decided to move its Thursday and Friday cards to Monday and Tuesday, respectively, and on Wednesday, with the possibility that several inches of rain could fall between Wednesday afternoon and Friday night, elected to move Saturday’s 12-race program to Sunday, normally a dark day for the Virginia track. The entire card will be run as originally drawn, with first post, as was the case Saturday, set at 1 p.m. Eastern. The Million is carded as race 11 and is preceded by the Grade 2 Beverly D. and the Grade 2 Secretariat Stakes, as well as four other ungraded stakes races. Nations Pride and Integration are the favorites in the Million, which drew a field of six, including English shipper Ancient Rome. The local forecast for Saturday and Sunday calls for sunshine and high temperatures in the mid-80s. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
