Colonial Downs: Immortal Eyes bring winning act on the road in Chesapeake

Marcus Hersh|Jul 04, 2011

Immortal Eyes is more than a Charles Town flash. The 6-year-old gelding’s last five wins had come in 4 1/2-furlong Charles Town sprints, but Immortal Eyes won the six-furlong, $50,000 Chesapeake Stakes on Sunday at Colonial Downs in a track-record 1:07.97.

Leading all the way under Sheldon Russel, Immortal Eyes beat Escrow Kid by 1 1/4 lengths, with favored Nathan’s H Q another neck back in third. Immortal Eyes is a 6-year-old Greatness gelding who has won 8 of 25 starts. He is trained by Damon Dilodovico and owned by Robert Abbo.
