Collecting Flatter was the third winner on the card for trainer Josie Carroll. She is now unbeaten in two starts, including a maiden special weight score on June 25. “It actually took her a little while to come around,” Carroll said. “As we got closer to her first race, we really started to like her. She won nicely, but what I liked more was the way she starting training after (her debut). That race really put her on her game. She was hard to hold in the mornings. She was getting aggressive. She was really enjoying what she was doing. She was just a really happy horse going into this race.” A Kentucky-bred by the late Flatter, Collecting Flatter returned $5.80 and earned $75,000.
