OZONE PARK, N.Y. – On March 9, 2019 trainer Ben Colebrook ran a 20-1 shot named Knicks Go in the Grade 3 Gotham Stakes at Aqueduct. He finished seventh of eight. On Wednesday – March 9, 2022 – Colebrook entered just his second horse at Aqueduct since then when he put Club Car in Saturday’s $100,000 Correction Stakes. She won’t be 20-1, nor will she likely be sent to another trainer and become Horse of the Year a la Knicks Go. Club Car was scratched out of Monday’s $100,000 Penn’s Landing Stakes at Parx when he received assurances from NYRA’s racing office that the Correction would fill. Colebrook was happy not to have shipped to Parx because a quarantine has been enacted at that track for an indefinite period of time. :: Serious horseplayers use serious products. Prior to that, she was beaten a neck by Bell’s the One in the Grade 2 Thoroughbred Club of America Stakes at Keeneland. Club Car captured the West Virginia Secretary of State Stakes at Mountaineer Park last August. The one Colebrook felt got away was the Grade 3 Chicago Stakes last June at Arlington Park, where she was beaten a half-length after making the lead. “She hit the front a little too soon and waited on horses,” Colebrook said. “That was our best chance to get that elusive graded stakes win.” Dylan Davis will ride Club Car.
