Code of Honor targets Westchester for return

Code of Honor, the multiple Grade 1 stakes winner at 3, will make his 4-year-old debut in the Grade 3, $100,000 Westchester Stakes on June 6 at Belmont Park, trainer Shug McGaughey told the New York Racing Association publicity department.
Code of Honor has been in training at Payson Park in Florida, where he recorded five breezes before shipping to Belmont Park this week.
Last year, Code of Honor won four graded stakes, including the Grade 1 Travers at Saratoga. He was elevated to first in the Grade 1 Jockey Club Gold Cup after the stewards disqualified Vino Rosso from first for interference.
McGaughey said the Grade 1 Whitney at Saratoga in August “would be our big summertime goal,” he told NYRA.
On that same June 6 card, McGaughey plans to run Performer in the Grade 1 Carter, a seven-furlong race originally scheduled for April 4.
