Former jockey Lori Coburn was released from an Ocala, Fla., hospital Monday after surgery for injuries sustained in a hit-and-run accident. Coburn, who retired from riding after breaking her right leg when a horse bolted with her in a race in 2007 at the now-shuttered Great Lakes Downs, was riding her bicycle when she was hit from behind Saturday morning by an unidentified vehicle, according to a friend, Roxanne Mitz. Coburn's left leg and left wrist were broken in the incident. She also had facial lacerations and a blood clot in her head, which dissolved before the surgery. Coburn had recently returned to college and was working at a local horse farm. She had 654 career wins in the saddle.
