GP RACE 10: SIR LONDON was gelded after a flat fourth in a rich allowance at Keeneland in October and has worked encouragingly at Palm Meadows for accomplished layoff trainer Graham Motion. SCRAMBLE, another talented comebacker, nearly cleared the first allowance condition at Saratoga after running competitively against the likes of Kalik and Program Trading at Belmont. (2) GP RACE 11: JESSAMINE HILL rallied outside from the back of the pack for second behind a nice prospect when debuting around two turns on the Tapeta, over which she worked brilliantly the other day. She has a quality turf pedigree on the dam’s side and a successful second-out trainer in Mark Casse, who has won three races at the meet when using Edgard Zayas. The runner-up from his last race on opening day of the meet, Missed the Cut, subsequently took the Grade 3 San Marcos with a 100 Beyer. GOLIAD has his own winning streak on the go and could take some catching if he runs his usual race for jockey Kazushi Kimura. The 2023 San Marcos victor, PRINCE ABAMA, is returning from a 13-month absence and has a history of firing when fresh. Frankie Dettori is 1 for 5 at the meet for superb long-term layoff trainer Phil D’Amato. DU JOUR was in sharp form at Del Mar before failing to challenge the last time he saw action here in the Nov. 4 Breeders’ Cup Mile. He lost a nail-biter in this Grade 1 stakes last year. (4) SA RACE 8: NEWGRANGE is coming off back-to-back Grade 2 triumphs, most recently in the 1 1/8-mile San Pasqual, and is a much better horse now than when he was a troubled seventh in last year’s Big Cap. His tactical speed should come in handy after breaking from the outside post 7 under Victor Espinoza, who has won this historic Grade 1 fixture three times. Fair Grounds-based HIGHLAND FALLS cleared the first two allowance conditions in his two most recent excursions and is a good fit from a Beyer perspective. The blue-blooded son of Curlin seems ready for prime time. (2) :: Bet the races with a $200 First Deposit Match + FREE All Access PPs! Join DRF Bets. SA RACE 10: RUBY NELL notched two one-mile stakes for 3-year-old fillies in front-running style here last fall and is being reunited with Edwin Maldonaldo off a game third in the Grade 2 Pegasus World Cup Filly and Mare Turf at Gulfstream. Her last two works (shown on XBTV) were both good, and she seems poised for another peak performance. LAKOTA SPIRIT is shortening up to a suitable distance after failing to stay 1 1/2 miles in the Astra Stakes and should be in the hunt. MOUFFY is shedding blinkers while picking up Dettori off a rank second behind gate-to-wire winner BELLABEL in the Grade 3 Megahertz.
