Sunday's Coast to Coast Pick 5, featuring races from Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita, will have its pool seeded with $100,000 from 1 S/T Racing. SANTA ANITA 3: PROOF SHE ZIPS has been away since April, but she lands in a good spot for her return. She should be able to use her early speed to her best advantage in this fairly paceless sprint and should be a factor from the bell if given a clean start. SATOSHI gets back on turf, and though her lone win came on the main track her best figures have come on the grass. She’s another who figures to be in position to take advantage of the expected race flow. A return to turf also could move him up. RUNNINGWSCISSORS has speed but can win from off the pace, and that figures to be his strategy given the probability of a quick, contested pace. SPACE LAUNCH has steady figures, earned on synthetic and turf, and he’s easy to like off that narrow loss in his latest. EYES ON TARGET had early trouble in his latest, which may have been too short for him. He should be running late under Paco Lopez. (4) SANTA ANITA 5: HEART HEADED was a head short of catching Stay Hot in his turf and stakes debut in the Baffle Stakes last time out. It clearly was a good effort, and he was flattered when that rival returned to repeat in the Pasadena Stakes (86 Beyer). Perhaps most noteworthy, he showed in that narrow loss that he’s capable of sitting off the pace and making one run. He should be perfectly spotted behind a pressured pace in this speed-filled John Shear Stakes. (1) :: Bet the races with a $200 First Deposit Match + FREE All Access PPs! Join DRF Bets. SANTA ANITA 7: Using them all in this statebred maiden special weight turf sprint, which is by definition wide open. It’s a tough race to plot, with most of the top contenders closely matched and the likely longshots lightly raced and clearly eligible to improve. (11) SANTA ANITA 9: LAULNE hasn’t been out since finishing off the board in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf, but she had early trouble there and was only beaten six lengths. She obviously looms a top contender here despite the respite. ANTIFONA is a closer in need of some help from the pacesetters, but if she gets an honest pace to chase she has the credentials to win this as she has decent Beyers and a pretty good late kick.
