Lauren King/Coglianese Photos Arthur's Ride returns from a layoff in Saturday's 10th race at Gulfstream Park, the first leg of the Coast to Coast Pick 5.

GP RACE 10: ARTHUR’S RIDE has worked nicely at Payson Park (including a Jan. 27 drill with Grade 1 winner Casa Creed) in advance of his return from an extended layoff and seems poised to clear the first allowance condition. Trainer Bill Mott’s go-to rider, Junior Alvarado, has the mount on the powerful gray son of Tapit who graduated at Gulfstream with an 89 Beyer Speed Figure. (1)

SA RACE 5: QUICK KATE placed in all three of her turf races over different distances and was along for third when turning back from a mile to a sprint in her first try at this level. CAN’T SLEEP closed strongly from eighth to land her debut under Frankie Dettori for a trainer who rarely clicks at first asking. THE SHUSHALA is shedding the blinkers after getting fried in a speed duel when moving to this level a month after her successful debut and could get back on the beam. (3)

SA RACE 6: FIFTH STREET went to the sidelines after beating impressive next-out Del Mar maiden special victor Worcester when earning his diploma with an 86 Beyer at Los Alamitos in July. The pricey son of Quality Road has been working right along for ace layoff trainer Bob Baffert and appears ready to wire the field under leading jockey Juan Hernandez. (1)

GP RACE 12: SAINT IN THE CITY was gelded during his time off and looked good in his Payson Park works that were posted on XBTV. The son of Mendelssohn is bred to be a late bloomer and should fare much better than he did on the Gulfstream grass last year. BETTER BET mounted a wide rally from the rear of the field to end up third in his opener going a mile on the lawn, from which victorious Alexis Zorba exited to finish a close second in an allowance while getting an 80 Beyer. SA RACE 7: This nine-furlong maiden special seems quite competitive, and using the entire field is recommended. Indispensable, making his first grass start, is by the good 15 percent turf route sire Constitution, and his dam dropped two turf winners. (8)

THE PLAY: 5 / 3, 7, 8 / 5 / 1, 6 / ALL = $48 ticket
