Coady Photography Coppola should be part of the pace in Saturday's Gulfstream Park Turf Sprint, the fist leg of the Coast to Coast Pick 5.

GP RACE 9: Spreading out in this competitive turf dash in which COPPOLA could be the dominant front-runner. He had a wide trip after an uncharacteristically slow beginning in his only dull recent performance in a Grade 2 stakes at Keeneland. CAROTARI was a chalky second in his comeback, and the 10-time winner is looking to end a drought with Irad Ortiz Jr. back aboard. PANTHER ISLAND has won two in a row, including a stakes, and is versatile in terms of running style. HEAVEN STREET is back on his preferred surface. EAMONN could be along for all the spoils if there’s a total pace meltdown. (5)

SA RACE 3: SPEED GRAZY lost a nail-biter under Frankie Dettori last time in an identical spot in his second try off a claim. EL REY DORADO figures to be a speed threat in his first venture around two turns. CALIFORNIA BAY is a wild card in his first start on dirt, a surface for which the son of California Chrome is strongly bred, top and bottom. (3)

GP RACE 11: TURN UP THE TREES won his debut sprinting on the dirt and shouldn’t mind moving out to 7 1/2 furlongs on the grass in this allowance/optional claimer. The pricey son of good turf sire Liam’s Map is out of a stakes-placed turf router and should be a pace presence. (1)

SA RACE 6: EXULTATION dropped a nose decision last time in a $50,000 claimer to a sharp Doncic, who subsequently won his third in a row in an allowance/optional claimer while earning an 89 Beyer. GIVE ME THE LUTE is seeking his fifth consecutive victory in his first try for an underrated trainer with excellent recent numbers off a claim. (2)

SA RACE 7: ENJOY IT STRAIT rarely runs a bad one and could be ready to roll off the bench. Going back five years, trainer Mark Glatt is 7 for 8 (88 percent) with six-month-plus comebackers racing second time off a claim, with a return on investment of $7.90. MINISTER SHANE and BAG’S GOLD are the other protagonists. (3)

THE PLAY = 1, 2, 4, 6, 7 / 4, 5, 7 / 2 / 7, 8 / 7, 8, 9 = $90 ticket
