Gufo started about a length in front of Decorated Invader, who, under Joel Rosario, came to Gufo in midstretch, and the pair finished together. Decorated Invader went in 50.05 seconds while Gufo went in 50.25, both going as easy as could be.
“I thought they worked very well,” Clement said. “They started slow and they were flying. I’m excited about them.”

Decorated Invader, a Grade 1 winner at 2 who won the Cutler Bay Stakes at Gulfstream in March, is targeting the Grade 2, $150,000 Pennine Ridge Stakes at Belmont on June 20. Gufo, who won the English Channel Stakes at Gulfstream on May 2, could run in the Pennine Ridge or the Grade 3, $125,000 Kent Stakes at Delaware on July 4.
Clement was looking to run in the Cinema Stakes at Santa Anita but could not get transportation to California.
