OZONE PARK, N.Y. – Trainer Christophe Clement has gotten off to a terrific start at the Belmont at the Big A spring/summer meet with five wins – four in stakes – through the first two weeks. Clement won Saturday’s Grade 2 Man o’ War with heavily favored Far Bridge, who will now be pointed to the Grade 1 Manhattan at Saratoga on June 7. Clement could point three horses to that race, including Deterministic and Carson’s Run, the one-two finishers from the Grade 2 Fort Marcy on May 3. “The three of them have exited their races in good order, so it makes sense for all three of them,” Miguel Clement, assistant trainer to his father, told NYRA publicity. “Deterministic could not have been more impressive, and Carson’s Run could not have run a bigger race off the layoff. Far Bridge is perhaps the leader of the division the last two years.” :: Access the most trusted data and information in horse racing! DRF Past Performances and Picks are available now. Clement also won Saturday’s Take the A Train Stakes with Love Cervere, who will now target the Grade 3, $175,000 Soaring Softly Stakes at Saratoga on June 8. Clement’s other winners so far this meet include Bellezza in the Grade 3 Sheepshead Bay and My Anticipation in a maiden turf sprint on Sunday. :: Want to learn more about handicapping and wagering?
