Classic Move brings solid credentials into Woodbine allowance

ETOBICOKE, Ontario — Classic Move has been competitive under a variety of conditions for trainer Mark Casse and should be the prohibitive favorite in Thursday’s featured conditioned allowance with a $50,000 claiming option at Woodbine.
Classic Move made her first four starts at Gulfstream, beginning with a solid second behind the future allowance winner and stakes-placed runner Sweet Ember Jan. 15. Following a fourth where she set the pace in a one-mile maiden special on the grass, she graduated from a stalking position in a two-turn maiden special that was switched from the turf to the Tapeta.
Classic Move boosted her value when third after leading in the May 2 Honey Ryder Stakes over a mile on the turf, after which Casse shipped her north of the border. She came up empty behind the likes of Luster, Katie’s Grace, and Dixie Law in the Grade 3 Selene here June 27, her only poor showing in six outings.
Cutting back from 1 1/16 miles to three-quarters most recently Aug. 8, Classic Move set a fast pace on a live rail in a non-winners of two allowance. She never looked back and prevailed by two lengths in a quick clocking of 1:09.91, which translated into an 84 Beyer Speed Figure.
Romero Maragh will again ride Classic Move, a Classic Empire filly, for a partnership that includes Blue Crevalle Racing and Rocky Top Stable.
Rounding out the field for the six-furlong headliner, the fifth of seven races, are Social Code, Give Me the Boots, Luz de La Luna, Minimum Forty, and I Got Murphed.
Social Code ran wide against the bias when a well-beaten sixth behind Classic Move in her second start off the sidelines Aug. 8. She defeated nonwinner-of-two allowance opponents going seven-eighths three weeks later with a 78 Beyer, perhaps her best performance since a close third in the 2025 Ruling Angel Stakes.
Rafael Hernandez retains the mount on Social Code for trainer Blair Miller. The jockey-trainer combination is 1 for 8 at the meet.
Formerly a front-runner, Give Me the Boots began slowly from the one-hole before closing from seventh to third in the restricted Ballade Stakes July 5. She ran evenly for fourth behind Minimum Forty and Luz de La Luna when favored in her latest at this level.
Luz de La Luna was reclaimed by trainer David Borsk for $50,000 April 25, after which she closed for second. Most recently off a break Aug. 1, she tracked the leaders from a three-wide position and then made her way into contention before flattening out late to third.
Minimum Forty won three of her first four outings before checking in seventh after a wide journey in the Ballade. She ran for the $50,000 tag at this level in her latest, finishing a close second to a peaking Ludicrous after contesting the pace.
I Got Murphed has been idle since clearing the first allowance condition July 11, from which Dolce Fortuna exited to finish a speedy second to Little Teddy in the restricted Zadracarta Stakes on the inner turf.
