Claiborne raises two fees

Claiborne Farm will raise the stud fees for its popular young sires Pulpit and Arch in 2006, the Paris, Ky., farm announced Wednesday.

Pulpit's fee will increase from $60,000 to $80,000 in the coming season, while Arch's will rise from $10,000 to $15,000. In the only other change, the fee for 2001 Kentucky Derby winner Monarchos will drop from $25,000 to $15,000. The farm also will stand a new stallion, the Grade 1-winning millionaire Eddington, for $20,000 in 2006. Seeking the Gold's fee will remain $125,000.

Pulpit, by A.P. Indy, is the sire of such runners as 2005 graded stakes performers Melhor Ainda, Purge, Fifth Overture, Wend, and others. Arch, a son of Kris S., is the sire of 2005 Grade 1 winner Prince Arch and graded performers Jake Skate, Anegada, and Arravale, among others.
