Churchill network exotic delayed

LOUISVILLE. Ky. - A multitrack wager linking races throughout the Churchill Downs Simulcast Network will not make its 2001 debut until the weekend of June 16 at the earliest, said John Asher, a spokesman for Churchill Downs.

Last year, the CDSN pick three proved a popular bet. This year, management wants to make it into a pick four, with one race each from Calder, Churchill, Arlington, and Hollywood. Calder likely would serve as the wagering hub.

A Churchill network pick three tentatively had been scheduled to be revived this coming weekend, but the decision was made to wait until Arlington opens.
