Spot PlayIONIC SILVER (#3, 6-1) Corinthian gelding did finish last of 12 in his Kee debut last month, but that was against an exponentially tougher group than what he’ll face today on the drop into claiming company. Worth noting he showed quite a bit of speed that day at a fairly respectable 11-1, and now he stands to benefit in a big way from that needed first out for trainer (P.Sims) having a fine year. – Marty McGee

Spot PlaySOME WAY SOME HOW (#1, 3-1): Blinkers come off a 3yo who showed the way to midstretch for this same $7.5k conditioned tag last out for Richard, who’s enjoying a terrific fall meet (7-for-15) for the Midwest Thoroughbreds powerhouse. Now stretches out from one turn to two, which should enhance his out-front dominance given the likelihood of a slightly slower pace; rail drawn obviously helps. – Marty McGee

Spot PlayKIMBERLY JEAN (#6, 5-1) has only run on the turf once but that was a solid effort, as she closed nicely for the show despite slow fractions; not sure why she hasn't been back on the green until now but she should welcome the return. -Kenny Peck

Spot PlayMCCOUGHTRY (#7, 10-1) has been running decently on turf and Poly and now returns to her best surface on dirt for a dangerous longshot barn; blinkers on – a good angle for the stable, too. – Byron King
Vulnerable FavoriteLAKE MICHIGAN (#6, 3-1) although a threat, his chances aren’t significantly better than others in this nonwinners-of-two claimer; he has been tiring in recent starts and hasn’t raced for nearly two months; contender but an underlaid one. – Byron King
