Churchill Downs: DRF Plus handicapping report for November 10, 2013
Race 1 |
COCODRIE (#3, 15-1) showed nothing going two turns on turf at HAW in career debut, which makes it interesting that capable outfit tries something different – one turn on dirt – without really dropping $22K sales buy down in class. Suspect more here than meets eye. - Marcus Hersh Closer Looks >> |

Vulnerable FavoriteMOONWALK (#8, 5-2) will take support in this allowance as a Grade 3 winner, but she has gone winless in four other starts this year in second-level allowances and doesn’t seem to have improved from her 2-year-old year. – Byron King

Race 6 |
Spot PlayBERN’ JAMES BERN (#2, 4-1) had slow break from wide post & just went through motions making career debut in a KEE main-track MSW. Had been working at CD before that, & kind of suspect something like this spot might have been real goal all along. - Marcus Hersh

Race 7 |
Spot PlayGIVEMETHREESTEPSMR (#8, 9-2) didn’t fire going a route at Kentucky Downs last out but has good dirt form for the most part; never in this cheap and ran a fine second the last time she raced on the Churchill main track. – Byron King

Spot PlayBLUE VIOLET (#6, 7-2) has been away but she's been training very well toward her return for trainer Larry Jones; keying her with KIMBERLEY JEAN (#2, 5-1) and TWO TO TANGO (#3, 5-1) and boxing all three. -Kenny Peck Spot PlayCALL PAT (#11, 12-1) It’s been a big year for the Sims barn, and this filly could be one slightly overlooked at this tough 1x alw. level after she ran just OK on the Kee Poly in her first crack at this condition. Has had a couple of nice efforts over the CD main, and with the underrated Hill still tending to equate to value with the Ky. players, this one could be very usable as the Sun. card winds down. – Marty McGee
