Churchill Downs: DRF Plus handicapping report for June 27, 2014

Vulnerable FavoriteAl Stall Jr. has some mighty fine animals in his stable, and MR. RIGHT (#4, 5-2) doesn’t look all that bad, until you realize he’s been his own worst enemy when getting away poorly or finding trouble, usually when over-bet. Had no mishap in latest when facing a similar field, and early-arriving Downs After Dark fans won’t be able to resist him … but we can. - Marty McGee

Spot PlayC J’s AWESOME (#3, 2-1): One of the many paradoxes of racing is something just like this: a horse going longer than ever after fading in shorter events. Funny how this works: allowed to lope along solo with Leparoux on the reins, this guy figures to make an easy lead and just keep on galloping merrily along. Will be backing with extreme confidence. – Marty McGee

Spot PlayVICTORY COURTS (#1, 5-2): It’s been a mighty fine CD spring meet for the Irishman Brendan Walsh, with 5 wins and 5 nds from just 15 starters. This guy hasn’t been overraced in recent weeks and comes off a decent third for this same N3L condition while getting cut in half while drawing C-Lan and the rail, a perfect mix to further perpetuate the stable’s big meet. – Marty McGee
