Spot PlayFLATTERMEJIM (#5, 5-2) Sometimes hard to tell who has the class edge over who in these starter events, but little doubt this guy has been facing superior company of late while closing resolutely. Gets C-Lan as added insurance. – Marty McGee

Spot PlayOH IF I CATCH YOU (#7, 3-1): First Lasix might be just what the vet ordered to finally get this filly a trip back to the winner’s circle. Has been rather consistent throughout her career for Caramori, the ever-underrated Brazilian, and we’ll rely on the outer post to afford her and Pedroza a good trip. – Marty McGee

Race 6 |
Spot PlayVELVET ZIP (#6, 12-1) comes off short freshening with blinkers on, a move that has meant something with this barn. First try on turf, for which she’s bred, and stalking style could play well in pace-packed field. – Marcus Hersh

Race 7 |
Spot PlayBIRD NOW (#3, 5-1) speed & fade in SAR debut last summer for barn that rarely wins with firsters, caught mud in 2nd out, hasn’t raced since. Starting over for new barn with a very encouraging work pattern. – Marcus Hersh

Vulnerable FavoriteVIVA MAJORCA (#4, 3-1) will take money off that 96 Beyer he posted two back, just as he did last time, but that was at 7 furlongs, and he enjoyed an ideal trip; much more likely to run back to his most recent, which gives him no real figure edge. -Kenny Peck
