Churchill Downs: Closer Looks for November 30, 2013

DRF Staff|Nov 29, 2013

Race 1

She's Not Here
First part of the coupling draws the fence for the stretchout in her first crack on dirt; like the speed she showed first out at Keeneland and there doesn't look to be much else of that commodity in here so she should be able to show it; dam was a SW turf router and her sire was a G1 SW going long so she certainly has a right to take to the trip; they may have to come and get her to win.
Piper Jade
Didn't have much to offer late in her turf debut a couple of weeks back but this gal did run well one the local main track 2 starts back; filly has run the fastest of any of these on dirt and she's shown the positional foot to sit close to the top from the bell; one to consider.
Lady Marian
Other half of the entry wasn't beaten much first time on dirt and now she'll stretch out to 2 turns; lone sib was a limited sprint winner, but the dam did win going long and this gal's daddy was a G1 SW router so she should move forward at this configuration; contender.
Truly Royal
Poor breaking habits did her in while sprinting in her first 2 starts and now she'll stretch out; she's kin to a route winner so maybe the added ground helps and her blowout last week suggests she may be able to get off to a better beginning in this spot.
Grace of the Nile
Her freshman sire has gotten off to a nice start at stud as 6 for his first 31 starters have won first time out; SP dam banked 187K while winning 4 routes and this is her first foal to race; offered a little bit of speed in her blowout the other day, but this barn has been on a pretty poor run with its newcomers.
Treaty Oak
Had trouble in her debut run here last month but wasn't beaten much at the wire and now she'll tackle 2 turns; barn does well with its second out runners and the dam did drop a route winner; can take a step forward while getting a switch to a sharp pilot.
Beth Ann's Kitten
Beaten chalk in her first 3 starts tries dirt for the initial time after failing to get involved on synthetic footing at Keeneland; she did return to breeze well over that surface and has proven she can route; lone sib to race in the states is SW and 123K earner Amen Kitten whose 2 wins have both come on the lawn.
Hardrockcandymount
Barn has been blanked at the stand and hasn't had any recent luck with its newcomers; works aren't much and she didn't go for much at auction last year; sire gets 13% winners from his debut runners and her SW dam was a 4 time sprint winner and 131K earner who dropped 4 sprint winners.
My Sky
Broke poorly from the fence in her synthetic sprint debut and didn't do a lot of running thereafter; she's worked several times at her base in the interim and is bread to handle the added ground; SW dam was a route winner and she has dropped a limited route winner as well.
Goodtime Annie
Debuted in a heat that featured a quick early clip and never offered much; filly did return to breeze well and her lone sib is a 4 time sprint winner; pedigree suggests more ground could help her improve and she does have a right to be better with the initial experience behind her.
Theresas Candyrose
Took some money in her debut against maiden claimers on the Belmont lawn and beat her 5 foes to the wire before losing credit for the score; she'll try MSWs in her first crack on dirt, but her dam was a main track route winner and she has already had a taste of victory; new outfit will administer Lasix for her local debut.
Skittle Bomb
Showed solid early interest before tiring late first time on the local main track; filly starts from a tough draw today, but she did tackle a 2 turn trip first time out on the Keeneland lawn so she knows what the configuration is all about and her pedigree says she's capable of getting better with racing; price should be solid to give her a look.

Race 2

Sea Shadow
Latest breeze from the gate showed distinct improvement; her sire won a G2 and 221K in total (offspring of Jump Start have won their first race at a rate of 10 percent); the dam went 2 for 23 earning 39K; winning siblings include 25K earner Our Second Fitz.
Alaskan Bird
Jammed up between rivals first time out; her sire won multiple G1s and 1.57 million; the dam won 1 of 4 and 25K; winning siblings include 106K earner Broad Stone; can land a share at very healthy odds.
Centella
Newcomer was sired by G1 Flashy Bull who compiled 844K in earnings and whose descendants have won 10 out of 120 debuts; the dam won 9 of 26 and 213K; winning siblings include 97K earner Greco's Secret.
Anna Mia
Passed several rivals in the final stages of her maiden voyage; her sire won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile and 1.31 million while the dam involved was unraced; there are no winning sibs to mention; note Lasix addition.
Holiday Apple
Finished midpack from the outermost post first time out of the box; her sire won the G1 Blue Grass and 3.63 million; the dam went 3 for 19 earning 171K; among the winning siblings is 240K earner Dr. Diamonds.
Ireland
Third start off the bench angle can help her cause; she should appreciate the extension in distance today and could prove to be the right value play in this turkey shoot; might have been compromised by rail position in the last run.
Resistivity
Did not lose by much at all when forced to race extremely wide in her first test; her sire won multiple G1s and 1.56 million; the dam did not race; among the winning siblings is 157K earner High Quail; workout pattern this month is razor-sharp.
Unbridled Forever
A decent effort first time out when asked to go a mile; see Anna Mia, above, for same sire information; her dam won 4 of 16 and 648K; sib to 50K bankroller Perfect Forever; interesting turnback possibility.
Katie O.
Two respectable tries thus far and she hails from Yes It's True, a G1 winner who captured 1.08 million; the dam was unraced; winning siblings include 56K earner Halon; extra furlong today should pose no serious problem.
Cha Cha Ridge
Beginner was sired by G1 victor Sky Mesa who captured 633K and whose progeny have won 48 out of 361 debuts; the dam went zero for 2; among the winning sibs is G1 wiinner Hot Cha Cha who earned 998K.
Light Striker
Has earned several minor checks and has valuable multiple experience at today's distance; just missed the show in the latest attempt when facing 11 opponents and can be used in your trifecta plans today.
Queen Boss
Flashed much more early speed in that second run before fading late; her sire won a G1 and 612K while the dam was without a tally in 5 attempts; among the winning siblings is 110K earner Chief Thundercloud.
Bourbon Warfare
Some decent a.m. moves for this firster, daughter of multiple G1 winner Colonel John who captured 1.77 million (his progeny are 3 for 27 as far as winning their first test); the dam won 5 of 11 and 107K; winning sibs include 117K earner Las Malvegas.
V C F Proud Mary
Cut the corner in her first outing when losing by a scant length; her sire won 5 of 17 and 126K while the dam was zero for 2 lifetime; this is her sole foal to make it to the starting gate; must make that tough climb to special weight class.
Lady Mickelson
Respectable showing first time out when claimed; her sire won multiple G3s and 346K while the dam won 3 of 19 and 57K; winning siblings include 64K earner Bougainville; wheels right back but will need much luck to make it to the gate today.

Race 3

Grizzle
Sire is 26-for-298 with 1st-turf runners; 38-289 with 2-year-old 1st-time starters; dam only raced on Ireland turf (3-0-0-1, 1K) one of those defeats occurred at today's 9F distance; 2 of her foals to race are winners but are 0-for-10 combined on turf.
Hesinfront
Seems to have enough early speed to be a threat to go gate-to-wire here; better 2nd-time out 1st-turf improvement; the runner-up finisher from his debut posted a 69 Beyer speed figure in a next-out CD-MSW win; curious that the rider from first pair lands on Moon Gun for this.
Triple Play Kitten
Sire is 46-for-284 with 1st-turf runners; 36-210 with 2-year-old 1st-time starters; 1-for-14 dam (19K) won 1-of-6 on turf (12K) scoring in a TUP Miler; she produced 2 winners from 2 other foals to race both are turf winners including 1-for-5 full Dontmesswithkitten (19K).
Penobscot
Sire is 48-for-509 with 1st-turf runners; 38-389 with 2-year-old 1st-time starters; is out of a 2-for-4 dam (34K) who finished 4th in her only grass start a 60K stakes event at 8.5F producing 3 winners from 4 other foals to race and 2 turf winners including 3-for-4 turfer SW Kona Blend (94K green).
Eirigh
Last was his best race but that was on dirt with turf a big question mark for this; new rider would be his 4th in as many career starts which is not a good-win angle; worked a CD-4F bullet for this but must show more than last to land a major share.
Ches' Stein
Sire is 41-for-328 with 1st-turf runners; dam went 6-0-0-0 on Ireland grass; 5 of those losses were at 9F or longer; her only other foal to race Radiolondra finished 5th in an Italian-7F turf loss.
All Cash
Connections thought enough of this one to go in 2-graded events and the Breeders' Cup; August winner took a BEL-G3 next out with a 91 Beyer; his 2-back synthetic start represents the field's best Beyer; some concerns if he can get the 9F distance.
One More Night
The 1st-Lasix run did not produce the improved Beyer necessary to win latest while stretching out is an issue; sire is 17-for-115 with 1st-turf runners; is out of a 6-0-2-1 grass dam (23K); 2 foals to race on grass are 0-for-4 combined; adds 3F onto latest after being outfinished for the exacta.
Wildlife Artist
This is a tough distance to debut at but he raced close early then could not keep pace but held on for the show money in a promising effort despite the light Beyer attached; if he shows a typical 2nd-time out improvement looms a major threat to graduate here.
Moon Gun
Sire is 41-for-425 with 1st-turf runners; dam did not race on grass but was stakes-placed (1-for-6, 46K); only foal to race on grass Star of Taurus finished 11th at 5.5F; gets 1st Lasix as well; was screaming out for more distance in the debut and gets it here.
Colonel Krenz
Sire is 2-for-10 with 1st-turf runners; most runners move forward 2nd time out; dam won 2-of-14 on the lawn (92K); only foal to race on turf Silk Thunder finished 9th in an SA-6.5F event; adds blinkers trying to show a vast improvement off the debut defeat.
Wingate Hall
Sire is 14-for-96 with 1st-turf runners; is out of an unraced dam; her only other foal to race is 1-for-12 turfer Tie Dye (69K) who won her only race at 7F in her 3rd-career start on BEL grass; the 2-back show runner Beyered 58 in his next-out IND-MSW win; the debut runner-up Beyered 78-77 in next-out SAR-MSW and MTH-G3 stakes wins.
Jaz N Tap
Career-best Beyer 1st turf but tired at shorter which does bode well for the added-half furlong for this; the debut winner is now 2-for-2 Beyering 90 in a repeat KEE-allowance win; view as a pace presence for part.
Major Darby
Adds blinkers seeking improvement after beating 1 runner in 2 losses; sire is 1-for-10 with 1st-turf runners; dam did not race on grass (3-for-23, 9K); 3 of 8 foals to race on turf are grass winners including 170K-turfer Go Robin (5-for-12);
Hoopestime
Sire is 2-for-34 with 1st-turf runners; is out of a 6-0-1-1 dam (6K); 1 of 2 foals to race on turf is a grass winner (2-for-7 Pistoria 38K); beat 1 runner in his 2 losses while leaping up in class off maiden-claiming defeats is a poor-win angle.
Little Robbie D
Sire is 13-for-178 with 1st-turf runners; dam won 1-of-8 (6K) at 13F on French grass; 1 of 3 foals to race on turf is a grass winner (1-for-6 full G1-placed Perfect Timber 136K); 1st Lasix off the claim with a bullet workout on synthetic for this.

Race 4

Oogeley Eye
Connections thought enough of him to try the stakes but he only got rolling late; 7th finisher in last took a MSW next out and the 10th finisher took an N2L allowance; dam cashed once on grass as older horse; this is her first to race; don't ignore.
Signature Seven
Another new thing for colt on the conventional dirt today; dam took one dirt route as older runner; the sibling that won took 2 sprints as an older horse; has a right to improve here.
Harbor Bound
Seemed to lose interest after the eventful debut; the winner of the KEE race took a $61K stakes next out, and then was out of the money in a Graded affair; 2 for 3 dam banked nearly $80K, was sprint only; both siblings won, one cashed at 2, both were sprint only; he fits in the Beyer department.
Irish You Well
Been given time since being pushed in at the break; dam was unraced; lone half sis to race took 2 turf races as older horse; fresh and dangerous.
Tap to the Street
Fresh Lasix, blinks and Arroyo to change things around; Grade 1 winning 6 for 21 dam didn t go at 2, banked over a million; all 3 siblings won; 2 cashed routing; top kin Bear's Kid won twice at 2, banked nearly $250K; needs a turn around.
Royale Sky
Valid trouble in the debut but he proved he has some ability last time; SW 3 for 16 dam was third in best result at 2, earned about $80K; 3 of 4 siblings won; one was a triple winner at 2, all were sprinters; major threat for all the money.
Fire Starter
Like the way he was inching toward the winner in last and he could be more focused with the blinks; 3 for 13 dam earned over $100K, didn t go at 2; several multiple race winners in the family; no dirt route success there but there is a double juvenile winner and the speedball Bordonaro, who took a couple of G3s, banked nearly $950K; the one to beat.
Bro Rodrigeaux
Colt got away with moderate splits and couldn t get it done; dam took debut sprinting at 2, lost next 6; this is her first to race; look for rider to be much more aggressive here.
Rumblefortheroses
Runner may have hated the rail last time; dam out of the money twice; several multiple race winners in the tree including G3 winner and over $300K earner Tajaaweed; note improved move on the 21st.
Wizardly
Would have liked to see an improvement after the decent bow; dam took one route as older runner; this is her first to race; got a feeling we have not seen this guy's A game.
Commanding Curve
Beyers going in the right direction and he was getting closer late; 2 for 9 dam was a sprint only older performer; lone sibling took debut at 2, won a route, banked almost $125K; he seems on the verge of putting it over the top.
Nest of Pirates
Wraps added last time as runner was also getting out; dam s lone win came on turf, she didn t go at 2; this is her first to race; would lean toward watching some local activity.

Race 5

Innate Grace
Beginner was sired by Pulpit who won multiple G2s and 728K overall; his offspring have scored in 74 out of 617 debuts; the dam was a G1 winner who netted 1.49 million; among the winning siblings is 198K earner Magic Hour.
Midnight Beauty
Sheds the blinkers for the first time after stopping cold in the last assignment; may elect to change tactics here and improve in a big way; latest breeze from the gate is an encouraging sign in that direction.
Curio
No threat in her first attempt but she has breezed fairly well since; her sire won multiple G1s and 3.06 million while the mom scored in 2 of 10 starts earning 99K; this is her only foal to make it to the races.
Traci Is Ready
While facing 13 opponents first time out, she did not break smoothly; her sire won a G1 and 1.02 million; the dam won 3 of 26 and 125K; among the winning siblings is 87K bankroller Traci's Thunder.
Perfect La Comete
Turned in a fine try in her first route attempt earlier this month; had a legitimate excuse in the previous effort and the cutback to this distance can work in her favor; looks like a real trifecta threat no matter what the early pace.
Bella Ana
Broke slowly in her maiden voyage 2 months and did not recover; her sire was without a victory in 7 attempts while the dam went 2 for 26 earning 18K; this is her only foal to make it to the races.
Holly's Image
Quick workout turned in 10 days ago to consider; her sire won a G2 stakes and 310K; progeny of Ready's Image have won 5 of 38 initial starts; the dam won 2 of 15 and 35K; among the winning siblings is 552K earner Taptowne.
Southern Honey
Steady breeze pattern for this new arrival; her sire won multiple G1s and 1.77 million; descendants of Colonel John have won 3 of 27 initial starts; the dam involved was unraced; winning sibs include 219K earner Agong.
Inwood Drive
Excellent breeze turned in on the morning of 11/10; her sire won multiple G1s and 3.07 million; progeny of Giant's Causeway have won nearly 11 percent of their initial attempts; the dam won 1 of 9 and 44K; this is her only foal to start.
Kiss Moon
Sired by the prolific Malibu Moon who won 1 of 2 and 33K; his offspring have won 102 out of 721 debuts; the dam won 6 of 22 and 381K; winning siblings; include 489K earner Kiss Mine; worth some consideration here.
Homesick Angel
Beaten favorite ran a game ran at the course and distance last time out; her sire won a G1 and 612K while the dam went 4 for 10 earning 164K; this is her only foal to make it to the starting gate; obvious true contender but another short price is certain.
Gamblers Rose
Considering the long layoff, that was a fine placing a month ago; see the first runner in this field for same sire information; the dam went zero for 3 lifetime; among the winning siblings is 777K earner Triskhasnolimit.
Afterlife
Sired by the exceptional Ghostzapper, a multiple G1 victor who captured 3.44 million (his descendants are 10 percent winners first time out); the dam won 1 of 14 and 33K: sib to 65K earner Deep Dive.
Blue Temptation
The most recent workout stamps this one as a legit contender; her sire won a G1 and 1.76 million; descendants of Bluegrass Cat have won 34 debuts out of 259 attempts; the dam won 2 of 8 and 35K: this is her sole foal to race.
Manki
Claimed out a respectable showing first time out; her sire won a G1 and 480K while the dam never made it to the races; this is her only foal to compete; can prove an interesting possibility if escaping the AE list and catching similar surface.
Flashy Ride
Her latest workout certainly suggests she is at the ready; her undefeated sire won multiple G1s and 749K (progeny of Candy Ride have won 52 out of 385 debuts); the dam won 6 of 17 and 227K; sib to 173K earner Nuclear Wayne.

Race 6

Angie's Prim Lady
Won her race on the lead but at 1F shorter than this however in latest she broke next to last then was no match for Milam who follows her here; the 7-week absence is a plus for a high-percentage fresh trainer; the show finisher from her debut posted a 70 Beyer speed figure in a next-out CRC-MSW victory.
Libby'sluckycharm
Projects to race midpack saving ground then make one run; hopes to carry that sharp-synthetic surface form onto dirt; an impressive debut where she broke 10th then won going 5 wide from post 11; owns plenty of upside with solid-CD works for this.
Teardrop
Troubled in both starts; she won from off the pace in her debut then in latest was part of a hot pace; hopes to sit just off Angie's Prim Lady and Milam then get 1st run on the closers; long layoff for a high-percentage fresh trainer after the ambitious placement 2nd-time out.
Fast Betty Blue
Lone win was rallying from 5th exiting a race with a quick pace; upset IND runners with sharp workouts for this; owns plenty of upside off that 1st start but has something to prove on CD dirt while many of these have already competed here; the trainer has been an icy 7-0-0-2 during the current-CD season.
Deemie
Late-running winner figures to sit back early here then make one run; major-class hike off the 2nd-time out improvement 1st time on dirt the extra half furlong can help the cause but would have to move forward in a big way to repeat vs. this kind.
Perfect Setting
Late-running winner figures to sit back early here then make one run; could not have been any more impressive than in the sloppy-track romp off the 8-week layoff but her fast-track form is the concern; clearly not a good sign that the win rider takes Milam for this.
Maco Light
Dirt workouts do not leap off the form at you following a 2nd-time out speed figure regression which is usually an improvement race; defeated the show runner in the unveiling who Beyered 66 in a next-out HAW-MSW graduation.
Lil Honey Badger
Won her race on the lead and hopes to have enough gate speed to deal with Milam and Angie's Prim Lady; 57 days since the very-ambitious-G1 loss; the debut runner-up Beyered 68 in her next-out IND MSW graduation; back to dirt which is her win surface.
Express Model
Hopes to stalk the pace here but projects to race midpack; stakes winner facing state breds gets the class test here in open company; beat the July runner-up finisher who Beyered 34 her next-out IND-MSW win; the debut winner repeated in a SAR-G3 with a 72 while the show runner Beyered 65 in a next-out IND-MSW win.
Milam
Projects to race on or near the lead for this; figures to clear from the outside but has Teardrop and Angie's Prim Lady to contend with from the gate; defeated the runner-up in her debut who Beyered 59 in a next-out ELP-MSW event.

Race 7

Tiz Windy
Stretches out to try 2 turns for the initial time in her turf debut; filly does enter this one on the improve and though her dam never tried the green she did take 3 main track routes prior to dropping this gal; sire gets about 7% first time surface winners from his offspring.
Trytoloveagain
Offered little first time out at Kentucky Downs and now she'll stretch out for a barn that doesn't do so well with its second out runners; route winning dam was third in her lone turf start and her other foal to race was a limited sprint winner.
Holly in China
Wide trip didn't help her when sent to post at 51-1 in her Keeneland sprint debut and now she'll try the route and lawn, both for the initial time; filly is by a sire who gets just 5% first surface winners from his offspring and the dam was 0 for 1 on the green prior to dropping her so don't know that the new footing will help move her up much.
Wicked Temper
Offered a little bit of late run first out before showing little when stretched out in the local slop on Halloween; barn is average with its first time turfers and this gal's sire gets about 9% winners from his initial surface starters; dam was a G2 SW overseas and none of her foals has tried the green in the states.
Elemonate
Hood goes on for the move to the green off a poor debut sprint try at Keeneland; barn doesn't do much with this type but this gal's sire does get a decent 12% first time surface winners from his offspring; limited sprint winning dam never tried the green prior to dropping a 2 time turf winner.
Charmaine's Legacy
It's taken them a little time to get this 200K in training buy to the races and her recent local drills are all breezes; barn doesn't do so well first out but they do call upon a top pilot for this one's unveiling; sire gets 11% first out winners and 9% first time surface winners from his runners and the dam dropped 3 turf winners including 499K earner Jimmy Simms, a SW turfer who won 8 times on the green and G1 SP, G2 SW turfer and 393K earner Well Monied; has a right to take to this footing.
Mizzen Miss
Ran well in each of her 2 main track sprints and now they'll stretch her speed out; sire gets 11% first time surface winners from his offspring and this gal is the first foal to race out of an unraced dam; they may have to come and get her to win.
Smart Ashley
Gray brings turf route experience to the table and she ran pretty well in each of those heats; cut back to this trip can help and she'll go back to the pilot aboard in her solid turf debut 2 back; with a solid recent drill in tow she looks to be the one they'll have to hold off.
Raised On Robbery
Toss her main track try last out and this filly boasts some solid form; she'll tackle 2 turns for the first time here but she has shown the ability to pass runners and maybe she finds a closer spot early on the stretchout today; pedigree is shaky for the added ground but we already know she likes the green; consider.
Malala's Diary
Gets Lasix for the turf try after failing to lift a foot first time out in the local slop; barn hits at a decent clip with its second out runners and this gal's sire hits at a 20% clip with his first time turfers; dam dropped 3 turf winners including first time surface winner Sky Lover; expecting a better effort from her.
Paulownia
She's beaten just one runner home in 3 starts and that can't be what they'd hoped for thus far from this 510K auction buy; filly did show some speed in each of her last 2 and from the look of her recent breezes maybe the time off served her well; she is kin to a couple of surface winners.
Black Opal
Outside drawn filly makes her debut for an outfit that doesn't usually have them fully cranked first time out; sire is 3 for 53 with his first out runners and 9 for 33 with his initial turf starters; dam was a G1 SW turfers and 744K earner who dropped one turf winner from 2 foals to race.
Candy Crush
First part of the entry adds the hood for her first try on dirt of this heat comes off; MTO did show a little bit of ability first time on the local lawn a couple of months back and her SW dam did take 4 main track routes while banking 389K in her career; she's kin to 5 main track route winners including G2 SP, 190K earner Doc Cheney and SW Roman Emperor who banked 168K.
Flashy Dimontina
MTO took a good step forward second time out in the local sprint try; gray is kin to a couple of route winners so the added ground should help and she'll likely find herself closer to the top early on the stretchout to this trip.
Warrior Elite
AE showed some early interest before backing out of it in the Keeneland sprint first time out; she's kin to SP, 4 time route winner and 275K earner Avenging Spirit as well as a first time surface winners so maybe the added ground helps move her up some on the surface switch for a barn that hits at a nice clip with its second out runners.
Aribelle
AE boasts some solid recent breezes for her unveiling for a barn that has had some luck right out of the box; sire gets 5% winners with his newcomers and is 5 for 60 with his initial surface starters; from 2 foals to race, the unraced dam dropped a limited main track route winner who finished second 4 times in 6 turf starts.
Notte d'Oro
AE makes his debut for a barn that knows how to get them ready but her recent drills aren't much; sire gets 10% first out winners and about 9% first time surface winners from his offspring; G2 SP, SW dam banked 355K and won her first start on the green prior to dropping 68K earner Red Rifle who won his first 2 starts prior to finishing off the board in a Belmont Park turf stake earlier this year.
Freethinker
Other half of the entry is at the bottom of the AE list and now likely to go; she did take some money first out in the sloppy off the turfer and returned to work pretty well on synthetic footing; SP dam won 3 times on the lawn and each of her other 2 foals to race has won over the stuff.

Race 8

Doubly Distinct
Respectable first run when fighting it out all the way until the final yards; his sire won a G3 and 447K while the dam won 3 of 14 and 49K; among the winning siblings is 224K earner Solemn Promise.
Shared Life
Improved in the latest breeze from the gate; his sire never lost, earning 749K including multiple G1s; offspring of Candy Ride have won 52 out of 385 debuts; the dam did not race; sib to 131K earner Burst Away.
Bracigliano
Even showing first time out at Keeneland despite the slow getaway; his sire won a G2 and 360K; the dam went 6 for 29 earning 355K; among the winning siblings is 28K earner Breezy Pointless.
Bourbonize
New face hails from G2 type Tiz Wonderful who captured 254K and whose progeny have won 20 out of 97 initial attempts; the mom won 3 of 10 and 26K; winning siblings include 20K earner Compromisin I'mnot.
Include Indycat
Modest breezes of late for this firster, son of G1 Include who garnered 1.65 million (his descendants have won 11 percent of their first attempts); the dam never raced and this is her sole foal to compete.
Dublin Up
His sire won the Breeders' Cup Juvenile and 1.31 million; progeny of Unbridled's Song have won 115 out of 847 initial starts; the dam never competed; this is her only foal to make it to the races.
Aniar
This colt's sire won multiple G1s and 7.8 million; descendants of Invasor have won only 2 of 44 debuts; the dam involved won 1 of 2 and 34K; this is her only foal to make it to the starting gate.
Spirit of Freedom
A fine placing first time out while the 3 to 2 favorite; his sire won a G3 and 360K while the dam was unraced; winning siblings include 106K earner Buckeye Heart; obvious true contender from a trainer who does well with second-timers.
Ulanbator
The sire was a G1 type who captured 976K and whose descendants have won 11 percent of their first ventures; the dam was without a tally in 7 attempts; this is her only foal to make it to the gate.
Long Station
Adds Lasix after a series of fair tries where he earned checks; bred to be a sprinter, he returns to the proper distance here and was a game second 2 back when just missing the place under these conditions.
Rous
Forgive the first run when blocked at the start; his sire won a G1 and 580K while the mom won 2 of 15 and 44K; among the winning siblings is 345K earner; may appreciate breaking from this outer slot.
Aggrandizement
Finished midpack in that first run of a month ago; his sire won multiple G1s and 3.63 million; the dam was without a victory in 3 starts; among the winning siblings is 28K earner Counselor Cabot; needs a stronger pace today.
Nate's Dynamite
Slowly improving and the return to 7 furlongs should help his cause; lost serious ground in the last run when defeated by a blowout winner and must somehow avoid a similar journey here if breaking into the field.
High Ransom
Did not have a smooth beginning in his last encounter; latest breeze was fair and perhaps he can upgrade further with the extension in distance; should be a generous price again if somehow getting to the gate.
Pyrite Gold
Sired by Spotsgone, a multiple G3 winner who notched 659K (his descendants are thus far zero for 1 first time out); the mom won 1 of 26 and 31K; there are no winning siblings to highlight; unlikely starter today.

Race 9

Daddy's Memory
Don't be oversold by the margin last time as it was slop aided; stars like Silverbulletday and Rachel Alexandra have won this fixture; last year Seaneen Girl was making her racing debut in this race and she blew up the tote at 31-1 with a 76 Beyer; the class is there on the bottom side as this gal s dam banked nearly $300K and won multiple stakes; look for Mena to again be aggressive here; far too sharp not to take seriously.
Naive Enough
Agile enough to overcome the stumbled last time; she may like it here; she has drilled forwardly in Maryland since and she was trying to inch away late in last; trainer has spotted them just fine this year; and note runners in the company line were well clear; interesting.
Streethomealabama
It took her awhile to figure it out and she was fully extended; considering she hopped in the air, the local debut in May was not all that bad; one of only 2 in the field proven at this trip; and there should be enough pace to help the cause; respect.
Runway Giant
Hung wide in 3 of 4, must take to conventional dirt on the fly; 3rd finisher in last took a $100K stakes next out, 10th finisher took a $101K Santa Anita stakes and the 8th finisher was 2nd a head in a N2L allowance; blowout on Wednesday should have her on her toes; the lone sibling to race did win on the dirt going short; can't count out.
Bird Maker
Professional in the local debut, no reason she will not take to the trip; like the way she quickened to get within a half-length of the lead last time and then just kept going; another move forward and she will be in the thick of it.
Canaryinacoalmine
Legit trouble in the debut when was not herself and was fractious; backers can point to the fact that the sibling that did win routing banked over $100K; probably needs to improve to repeat.
Vexed
Toss the synthetic effort and the form brightens; show horse in last won next out in a $500K Delta stakes last Saturday with an 81 Beyer; love the series of drills since the stakes debut; clever barn due to get rolling; all systems go.
Madly Truly
Off poorly in the local debut but miss is improving; miss seems to have taken to the surface if the clever move 8 days ago is any indication; the stakes experience may really be the tell when the real racing beings; legit player for all the marbles.
Playful Love
Bet like a good thing and she sure didn t disappoint; miss is cut out to perform, note she cost nearly $400K; would not take either runner from the Wilkes barn lightly.
Stonetastic
Maybe she just needed the last when hooking a freaky winner; miss seems to have enough speed to gun early and get a decent position; the real positive is that she has proven she likes this surface and against good horses in the Grade 2; don't be shocked if she makes a major move forward today.

Race 10

Gone Mountain
Saved his career-best Beyer speed figire for latest over the CD dirt but the effort did not produce a strong result fading at longer; lone win was on the lead at today's distance so cutting back can help the cause; know him early but unsure about late.
Pure Luxury
Has not raced past 7F yet; sire won 1-of-5 dirt routes including an FG-dirt 125K stakes at 8.5F; dam took 1-of-2 (33K) racing twice at 5F winning her career debut; she produced 2 dirt-route winners; the 2-back runner-up Beyered 80 in his next-out KEE alw. win.
Mendota
Has not raced past 7F yet; sire won 3-of-10 dirt routes (709K) including a G1 at 8.5F; dam won 2-of-4 dirt routes (98K) including an 8.5F sloppy-track stakes victory producing 2-for-2 dirt router Christinas Charm.
Cee 'n O
Declining-career Beyer pattern fading in latest-stakes loss when finishing the last of 6 over the CD dirt; reunites with the debut-win rider while his 2 dirt routes lacked stamina which makes this Mile-stamina test a huge question mark.
Angry Moon
Has not raced past 6F yet; sire took 1-of-6 dirt routes (271K) including the Met Mile; dam went 2-0-1-0 in dirt routes (11K) producing 1-for-3 synthetic surface router-full Whos Mr Hughes (19K); the debut runner-up took a MTH-G3 stakes win 2 starts later with a 77 Beyer while the show runner graduated next out with a 78.
Birdsone
Saved best Beyer for last on turf noting the lone win on a sloppy-race track; even finish suggested he wants to run all day and might have a future on grass at distances longer than 8.5F; faded at shorter in his only other CD-dirt start; he will be doing the rain dance for this.
Rooster Cruiser
Wokeup on CD fast dirt; the August winner and runner-up Beyered 91-89 in next-out RP-75K stakes and BEL-MSW wins; the debut winner repeated in a SAR-G2 with an 82 speed figure; major class test today facing winners for the 1st time.
Reflector
Has not raced past 6F yet; sire went 2-0-0-0 in dirt routes finishing 6th and 8th in G1 and G2 events; 3-0-2-1 dam (17K) never raced past 7F; lone foal to race Oos de Hielo is 1-for-5 in dirt routes; the debut win looks better since the show runner graduated next out in a MNR-MSW race with a 40 Beyer.
Son of Dixie
Has not raced past 7F yet; sire won 2-of-5 dirt routes (828K) including the G1 Haskell at 9F; dam went 2-0-0-1 in dirt routes (5K); 1st time on CD dirt was a winner and added distance can help the cause; working nicely for this; plenty of upside here.
General a Rod
Has not raced past 7F yet; G1 sire took 3-of-7 dirt routes (1M); dam finished off the board in her only dirt route; working well for the 1st dirt test adding blinkers also for the 1st time; late-running debut win suggests the added furlong today is not an issue.
Legend Forever
Has not raced past 6F yet; G1 sire never raced past 7F; dam won 1-of-4 dirt routes (29K); sharp-CD debut win despitre breaking slowly then bumped hard then ran well vs. winners; style suggests 1 Mile is well within his scope.
Conquest Titan
His field-best Beyer was accomplished over a synthetic surface gate-to-wire at 1F shorter than this; exits a career-low speed figure when sent long on dirt which is what today's race is; the debut runner-up Beyered 78-77 in next-out SAR-MSW and MTH-G3 stakes wins while the show runner posted a 72 in a SAR-MSW victory.
I'mbetterthangood
Troubled debut where he rallied well then hung on the money finishing evenly; 1st Lasix and hope to break from the gate a lot better with super-CD workouts for this; prefer inexperienced runners to break outside rather than being bogged down isnide.

Race 11

Almost Famous
The addition of blinkers for latest produced a field-best Beyer speed figure; has never been beaten out of the gate in 3 races and is clearly the one to catch today; debut win looks a lot better since the runner-up graduated at KEE next out with an 82 Beyer speed figure then took a CD-61K event with an 86.
Culprit
Defeated several of these in last; he projects for a similar trip saving ground behind a hot pace; the win rider sides with Almost Famous as the new pilot is just 1-for-22 for the trainer since 2012; extra half furlong adds to the appeal as his only subpar race during career was racing over a synthetic surface.
Mygalsal
Saved best for last on turf but returns to dirt for the 1st time since an off-the-board-MSW defeat in June; high-percentage 2YO trainer with the surface change the biggest issue about backing; the September winner repeated in a KEE-Grade 3 with a 77 Beyer.
Awesome Sky
Troubled in both starts a clean trip would help the cause; maidens vs. winners is a tough-win angle but is a lot more likely to score in 2YO events than in any other age group; strong 2nd-time out Beyer improvement racing at today's distance on CD dirt adds to the appeal.
Notability
Debut defeat from wide post 10 was at the hooves of Culprit when outrunning the over 50-1 odds; steady worktab for start 2 while the added distance is a slight concern although he rated well at shorter; the debut rider sides with Mygalsal for this.
Tapiture
Stamina is the biggest issue noting his best Beyer at 2F shorter than this in the debut when testing the winner who repeated in a SAR-G1 with an 85 Beyer; he was outfinished facing G3 company at today's distance over the track so being able to last after chasing Almost Famous from the gate is a big concern.
Laddie Boy
Adds to the pace here with Almost Famous; went all the way up top at today's distance in latest but that was on a synthetic surface; faded to Tapiture the only time sent this far on dirt; clearly latest was an improvement but have him ranked a notch below the top contenders off his graded-stakes losses.
Arctic Slope
His graduation over the CD dirt at today's distance looks a lot better since the runner-up Beyered 82 in his next-out CD-MSW win; 1st Lasix for this after no match for this same bunch; the debut winner, runner-up and show finishers Beyered 81-70-63 in next-out SAR-G2 and CD-BEL MSW wins.
Dobra Historia
No match for Almost Famous in last hoping one of these softens that one up on the front end to aid in rallying to pick up the pieces; beat the 2-back runner-up finisher who Beyered 71 in a next-out CD-MSW victory; has been working steadily for this class test.
Buck Magic
Has not raced past 7F yet; sire was a G2-SW at 9F on dirt; dam finished 5th in her only dirt route which was in a G2 event; the debut runner-up graduated in a CD-MSW event next out with a 69 Beyer; fired much better on dirt and with the race expereince under his belt but was outfinished in deep stretch for the exacta which is a concern today stretching out to his longest-distance test ever for this.

Race 12

Red River Rising
Colt has trained fast since stopping in the bow; dam out of the money in only try; both siblings won, one took juvenile debut, neither was a monster; needs a wake-up call.
Rich 'n' Tuck
Debut solid and like the fact he has the several local drills; dam won once on turf as older horse; this is her first to race; slight improvement and he should be a handful.
Fifty Shades
Considering the winner was clear, the debut was not all that bad; dam was unraced; this is her first to race; got a feeling we have not seen the best of this one.
Telepathy
Was cold on the board when busting from the rail and fans were right; dam out of the money twice; 7 of 9 siblings won; several won at 2 including stakes winner and near $300K earner Swiss Current; must respect everything from this barn.
Lexingtonian
Arch about 8% with juvenile firsters in a 190-runner sample; Grade 1 winning sire graduated in juvenile debut, earned almost half a million; 2 for 10 dam lost only try at 2; this is her first to race; he does look fit enough.
Gold Hawk
Empire Maker about 9% with juvenile debuters in a 152-runner survey; sire took debut at 2, won Belmont on way to near $2 million wallet; Grade 1 winning 5 for 18 dam won thrice at 2, banked over $950K; 4 of 5 siblings won, but none cashed at 2; runner has to roll to pay back the $450K price tag.
No Dishonor
Brief threat in the slop but he sure gave up the ghost; dam third in best moment; this is her first to race; would be careful before taking too short a number here.
Bridgeville
First Samurai 8 for 109 with juvenile debuters; 5 for 8 sire took juvenile debut, won Champagne and Hopeful; dam took one sprint as older runner; the sibling to win took one route as an older runner; love the spacing of the drills.
Unstoppable Colby
Been a bad actor at the gate so far; dam was unraced; 2 of 3 siblings won but neither at 2; colt needs to pick it up but the move on the 6th was promising; Court has had success for Mr. Lukas.
Little Baker
A bit more keen to run on the 18th, he should have his sea legs under him by now; 2nd and 3rd finisher in last won at this very level next out; dam was unraced; this is her first to race; this guy looks live.
Barley Twist
Mirror races and neither was pretty; dam out of the money in only try; all 6 siblings won including triple stakes winner and double winner at 2 Coronado Rose; stablemate seems more potent.
Stonehenge
Birdstone 10 for 118 with juvenile debuters; sire took debut at 2, disappointed many when shocking Smarty Jones in the Belmont; dam took one sprint as older runner; the full bro to win cashed once routing as older runner; could need more real estate to thrive.
Street Chief
Colt could have sulked after being bumped but he can running; 1 for 26 dam took a route as older runner; 6 of 8 siblings won; no juvenile success but kin Allicansayis Wow banked over $200K; a clean break and it could be a whole new ballgame.
Max's Defence
First Defence 4 for 39 with debuting juveniles; sire won at 2, took the Grade 1 Forego, banked nearly $600K; 3 for 16 dam lost twice at 2; all 6 siblings won; several raced at 2 to no avail; top kin Sly banked over $260K; decent blowout 8 days ago.
Fools Road
Would think long and hard before getting on the Road again; 1 for 17 dam lost 3 times at 2; 2 of 3 sibs won, neither cashed at 2; bred and owned by trainer, would lean toward watching another.
Jet Cat
Youngster has a right to build on the decent bow; 6 for 34 dam banked almost $100K, lost only out at 2; both siblings won once as older runners; may need softer to shine.
