The Chosen Vron sidelined
ARCADIA, Calif. – The Chosen Vron, a graded stakes-winning California-bred who is currently sidelined, will target a comeback in spring or summer. Eric Kruljac trains the 4-year-old gelding, who came out of a stakes victory Nov. 5 at Turf Paradise with an issue.
“He had filling in a stifle, and it turns out he’s been running with OCD,” Kruljac said, referring to osteochondritis dissecans. The disease, which affects a horse’s bones and joints, is treatable.
Kruljac said The Chosen Vron was treated by Dr. Carter Judy at Alamo Pintado Equine Medical Center in Central California and is expected to return in spring. During the winter meet at Santa Anita a year ago, The Chosen Vron won the Echo Eddie for California-bred 3-year-olds, followed by Grade 3 wins in the Laz Barrera and Affirmed stakes. He has won five races and $4340,678 from seven starts.
