Chit Chat Pam takes Cy-Fair

Chit Chat Pam overcame a terrible stumble at the start to win her maiden in the $30,000 Cy-Fair for 3-year-old fillies Saturday night at Sam Houston Race Park in Houston. She paid $48.60.
Mystical Mary finished second in the six furlong race, a length and a quarter clear of third place finisher Annie Savoy.
Chit Chat Pam stumbled to her knees at the start of the Cy-Fair, advanced outside of horses, and had a clear advantage by the stretch. She went on to cover the distance in 1:11.26.
Filemon Rodriguez rode the winner for trainer Bob Young.
"She's a nice filly," said Young. "She got away from the gates badly, but she did what we thought she could do."
Chit Chat Pam is a daughter of Valid Expectations and she races for Ken Murphy Thoroughbreds. She is eligible for the Texas Stallion Stakes at Sam Houston in February.
